POPLAR BLUFF - Lee Shaw, 43, formerly of Malden and Sikeston, died Sept. 13, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born Feb. 4, 1960, in Parma, son of James and Mozell Shaw of Malden, he lived in Poplar Bluff for the past nine months. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 14 years and with the Marine Corps League in St. Louis and Cape Girardeau. Shaw was a sergeant with the Missouri Military Honors Program of the Missouri National Guard for the past seven years and had served on 966 military funeral details since 1999.
Survivors in addition to his parents include: one son, Darren Shaw of Malden; three brothers, Bennie J. Shaw of Elkhart, Ind., and Elmer J. Shaw and Oscar L. Shaw of Malden; five sisters, Bernice Dennis of Essex, Elsie Hester of St. Louis and Fanny Farr, Alfreda Shaw and Dorothy Shaw of Malden; and his fiancee, Beverlyn Stewart of Sikeston.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Otis Hawes of Poplar Bluff will officiate.
The Missouri Military Honor Guard will conduct graveside military services at a later date at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
