"Our offense has struggled all year -- we've only scored in three games," said Sikeston coach Derrick Long. "Our defense has been tough, it keeps us in games."

KENNETT - The Sikeston tennis team improved to 7-2 on the season with an 8-1 victory against Kennett on Tuesday.

"I'm still tinkering with my lineup in an attempt to find the best combinations possible," said Sikeston coach Brian James. "Everything we do is to gear us towards district play. There are so many of these guys that are pretty even and nobody has really stood out over the other. It's kind of nice to have the luxury of some different looks out there, but it makes it tougher to fill out a lineup each day, too. The guys are handling my switching things around pretty well. Hopefully they understand what I'm trying to do. I will say that I'm seeing improvement out there most days."
