NEW MADRID - Nita F. Northcutt Peel, 72, was born April 28, 1933, in Hardin County, Tenn., to the late Dwight K. and Norma I. Alexander Northcutt, and passed away Sept. 20, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
On Aug. 3, 1952, in New Madrid County, she married the late Samuel H. "Sonny" Cooper Jr. On April 20, 2003, she married John Glen Peel, who survives of the home.
Mrs. Peel was a bank teller at the Bank of New Madrid until she retired. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and of the Little Vine and New Madrid Baptist Church in New Madrid and sang in the choir.
Survivors in addition to her husband include: one daughter and son-in-law, Noell and Jim Robbins of New Madrid; one son and daughter-in-law, Tracy and Susan Cooper of Wentzville; two stepsons and two stepdaughters-in-law, Mark and Kimberly Peel of New Madrid and Steven and Laura Peel of Cape Girardeau; one sister, Barbara Love of Wentzville; two brothers, Ronnie Northcutt of Calvert City, Ky., and Jerry Northcutt of Vandalia; four grandchildren, Megan Wilson, Nathan Cooper, Brandon Robbins and Thorne Robbins; and four stepgrandchildren, Anne Peel, Katie Peel, Rebecca Peel and Sarah Peel.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Richards Funeral Home Inc. in New Madrid. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in New Madrid with the Rev. Ted Wimberley officiating.
Burial will be at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
