CAPE GIRARDEAU - Edith Inez Barker Robinson, 83, died at 9:40 p.m. Sept. 22, 2005, at the Chateau Health Center.
Born July 5, 1922, in Red Bay, Ala., daughter of the late Thomas Marion and Mary Elizabeth McCullough Jones, she was emplyoed by the Missouri Division of Aging for many years until her retirement. She had lived most of her life in Charleston where she was a member of the First Christian Church.
In 1946, she married William C. "Bill" Barker who preceded her in death on Dec. 14, 1988.
In 1991, she married Madison L. Robinson of Cape Girardeau who survives.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, William C. and Peggy Barker Jr. of St. Clair; one daughter and son-in-law, Marylene and Ted Elliot of Cape Girardeau; and two sisters, Ruth Hubbert of Jackson and Evelyn Upton of East Prairie.
Also surviving are her grandchildren, Molly (Lucian) Zielinski of Cape Girardeau and their children, Candless, Saylor and Zachary; John Dodgen of Jackson; Melinda (Mark) Hahs of Pocahontas and their children, Matthew and Macey; William R. Barker of St. Clair; and Amy (Jason) Woodcock of Sullivan and their children, Jared and Jordan; and precious family and friends, Shirley Zielinski, Jean Kelly and Doug Miller.
One brother, Orlie Jones, and three sisters, Eva Harvell, Beachel Zilafro and Opan Robinson, also preceded her in death.
Friends may call after noon Sunday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston until time for services at 2 p.m. Martin Lucas of East Prairie will officiate.
Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.
