BLOOMFIELD - Richard G. Carson, 69, formerly of St. Charles, Ill., died Jan. 12, 2006, at the Cypress Point Healthcare facility in Dexter.
Born Sept. 11, 1936, in Bernie, son of the late Lawrence E. and Norma Pippins Carson, he had worked for the City of Dexter Street Department, attended the Alliance Church of Bernie and had served in the United States Army.
On Nov. 18, 1966, he married Eleanor South, who preceded him in death in 1993. On Aug. 9, 1997, in Bloomfield, he married Jolene Hester, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Alice Garness of Evansville, Ind., and Barbara Murdach of Ft. Myers, Fla.; two sisters, Peggy Burton of Danridge, Tenn., and June Patterson of Jefferson City; five grandchildren, 12 great-
grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, with the Rev. Cleatus Patterson of Bernie, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
