DEXTER - Frank Sedlacek, 79, died Oct. 18, 2005, at Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter.
Born April 6, 1926, in Jackson, Miss., son of the late Frank John and Josephine Johansen Sedlacek, he was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dexter. He graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering. He had worked for Alcoa Aluminum in Iowa, South America and Pennsylvania. He retired from Federal-Mogul at Malden in 1989. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served from 1944 to 1946 as a communications specialist.
On Sept. 6, 1952, at Valley Park, he married Harriet Roster, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Gary Sedlacek of Jefferson Hills, Penn.; one daughter, Karen Veerkamp of Sugar Land, Texas; and two grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Martin Sedlacek; and one sister, Charlotte McCormick.
Visitation is from 5 until 7 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. Louis J. Lowe officiating.
Burial will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
