ESSEX -- Leotis "T" Odom, 92, died Aug. 29, 2005, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.
Born Oct. 20, 1912, in Giltedge, Tenn., son of the late George Buchanan and Vera Rebecca Turnage Odom, he moved to Southeast Missouri in 1924 when he was 12 years old. He had lived Essex most of his life. A retired farmer, he had also worked for McMullin Asphalt for several years and served on the Road District for many years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Essex.
On Oct. 3, 1936, he married Daisy Alberta Eaton who preceded him in death on Dec. 12, 1982. In 1983, he married Blanche Alice Avery, and she preceded him in death on March 27, 2000.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Robbie Rebecca Taylor, on Oct. 30, 2003.
Survivors include: two sons, Roy Lee Odom of Bloomfield and Bobby Odom of Ponca City, Okla.; two daughters, Connie Sifford of Essex and Barbara Sue Ward of Poplar Bluff; and eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from noon Wednesday until time for services at 2 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. The Rev. Gary Gilbert of Dexter will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Essex Cemetery.
