PARK HILLS -- Michael G. Triplett, 48, formerly of East Prairie, died at 3:47 p.m. Nov. 29, 2007, in the St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis.
Born Aug. 6, 1959, in East Prairie, to Patsy Ruth Guinn Triplett of East Prairie and the late William Dallas "Dub" Triplett, he lived most of his life in East Prairie. He moved to Park Hills three years ago where he was employed by the Mineral Area College District Police and was a part-time deputy for the Washington County Sheriff's Department. He attended Elm Street Baptist Church at Charleston and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
On Feb. 14, 1983, he married Gloria Vanette Bays, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Mollie Triplett of the home; two sons, Mark Davis and fiancee Rachel Henry of Sikeston and Colby Davis of East Prairie; one sister Tonya Pullen of East Prairie; two brothers, Stanley Triplett of East Prairie and Jeff Triplett of Diehlstadt; and two grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled at 5 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Jon Archie will officiate with eulogies by Mark Davis, Noel Barton, Mark Potraiz and Sheriff Kevin Schroeder.
Burial with full military honors conducted by the Washington County Sheriff's Office and the Missouri Funeral Honors Program will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Noel Barton, Dakota Barton, Justin Tyler, Jimmy Smith, Jennifer Ernst and Lucas Kozlowski.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Washington County Sheriff's Department and Mineral Area College District Police and Friends.
