Harold Mills

SIKESTON -- Harold Gene Mills, 79, died at 5:18 p.m. Aug. 15, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born Dec. 22, 1923, in Cape Girardeau, son of the late Fred and Iva Darter Mills, he had been a welder for Missouri Dry Dock and was of the Baptist belief. He served in the U.S. Army from 1943-1946 and the U.S. Navy from 1947-1950.

On July 1, 1975, in Puxico, he married Ruby Lois Parks, who preceded him in death on June 30, 2003.

Survivors include: one son, Ronnie Mills of St. Louis; four stepsons, Gary Klingel of Benton, Byron Klingel of Kennett, Bobby Klingel of Vanduser and Billy Klingel of Jackson; one stepdaughter, Sonja Fisher of Vanduser; and 10 stepgrandchildren and four great-stepgrandchildren.

One brother preceded him in death.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday with the Rev. David Cullen, pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Bertrand, officiating.

Burial will follow with full military honors conducted by the Missouri Military Honor Guard Unit in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
