Third suspect currently being sought by DPS

SIKESTON -- Two Sikeston men were arrested Thursday -- with a third subject being sought -- for shooting into an occupied residence on Wednesday.

According to Sikeston Department of Public Safety Director Drew Juden, around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday someone fired approximately six shots into a residence at 1316 McDougal. Officers were able to obtain a description of the suspect vehicle from witnesses in the area and located it about 15 minutes later. The vehicle, which was unoccupied at the time, was found in front of a residence but it was towed, and a search warrant was obtained to retrieve any evidence that might have been inside.

Evidence at the scene matched evidence located during the execution of the search warrant Thursday on the vehicle. A suspect was then located at 9 a.m. and admitted during an interview to shooting at the residence.

A second subject was arrested during the search for the weapon used in the shooting as he allegedly moved and hid it from authorities. Once a 380 semi-

automatic pistol was recovered, it was found to have been reported stolen a week early to DPS by a local resident.

The two men, Willie Brown, 20, of 800 W. Gladys and Ricky Oden, 20, of Stoddard Street are currently in Scott County Jail awaiting arraignment this week.

Brown faces charges on first degree assault, armed criminal action and possession of stolen property and bond has been set at $150,000.

Oden faces charges of tampering with evidence and possession of stolen property. At press time bond had not been set.
