VERNON, Texas -- Laura Elizabeth Clark and SSgt. Paul William Niswonger were married in an 11 a.m. ceremony Oct. 8, 2004, in Vernon before Justice of the Peace Lewis Templeton.
The bride is the daughter of Robert Lee and Sheila Lynn Clark of Altus and granddaughter of Glenn Dale and Joyce Lee Pierce of Essex, Mo., Wilma Jean Lyerla of Washington, Mo., and the late William Henry Clark Sr. The great-granddaughter of Matti Moring of Sikeston, Mo., is the niece of Pam Knuckles of Sikeston and Pat Garner of Benton, Mo.
Parents of the bridegroom are Paul Freeman Niswonger and Ruth Ann Niswonger of Carlisle, Pa. He is the grandson of Eleanor Niswonger and Eveland Porterfield of Connellsvile, Pa.
A 1982 graduate of Altus High School, the new Mrs. Niswonger recently graduated with an associate degree from Western Oklahoma State College and is a student at Cameron University.
She is a school age assistant and recreation aide at the Boys and Girls Club on Altus Air Force Base.
Niswonger has served with the U.S. Air Force for nine years and is currently stationed at Altus Air Force Base. He is a K-9 handler with the Security Police Forces and has served several tours of duty, including Iraq.
They will be moving to Lajes Field in the Azores, off the coast of Portugal.
