SIKESTON -- Kristen Leigh Deane and Kurtis Daniel Tarwater were married in a 5:30 p.m. ceremony June 29, 2002, at the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston. The Rev. Bill Koch, senior pastor, performed the ceremony. Alex Georges of Columbia served as reader.
The bride is the daughter of Dottie Long and Mr. and Mrs. William H. Deane IV of Sikeston. She is the granddaughter of Bill and Ginny Deane of Sikeston and the late Louise Needham.
The bridegroom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. John Tarwater of Harrisonville and grandson of Ralph Russell of Corydon, Ind., Nettie Tarwater of Las Vegas, Nev., and the late Mattie Russell and Howard Tarwater.
Music for the occasion featured soloist Neal Boyd, organist/pianist Lisa Colbert, trumpeter Josh Lamar and a string trio featuring Trio Girardeaux.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by her sister, Jennifer Deane of Sikeston as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Tracy Underwood and Anne Gregston of St. Louis, Trisha Taylor of Columbia, Rachel Tuenter of Jacksonville, Fla., Maria Swan of Cape Girardeau, Sarah McGill of Sikeston and Amanda Allmon of Columbia. Flower girl was Mackenzie Jenkins of Corydon, cousin of the bridegroom.
John Tarwater served his son as best man. Groomsmen were Josh Kesterson, Rich Nichols and Jason Hoffman of Columbia, Adam Lock of Carrollton, Adam Langdon of Kansas City, Matt Lock of Carrollton and Doug James of Kansas City. Spence Vaughn of Sikeston, cousin of the bridegroom, was ring bearer.
Ushers were Will Deane and Clay Deane of Sikeston, brothers of the bride and Kevin Halsey and Peio Aramburu of Columbia. Candlelighters were Lauren Deane of Sikeston, sister of the bride and Brooke Tarwater of Columbia, sister of the bridegroom.
Program attendants were Justin Littleton, Austin Littleton and Matt Deane of Sikeston, cousins of the bride. Addie Vaughn of Sikeston, cousin of the bride, was guest book attendant. Wedding coordinator was Lori Templeton of Sikeston.
The wedding reception followed the ceremony at the Coach House Inn and Suites in Sikeston.
Following a honeymoon trip to Hawaii, Mr. and Mrs. Tarwater are making their home in Columbia.
