ORAN -- Oran's softball team lost its first game of the season on Wednesday afternoon to Delta, 7-2.
"Delta is a good team to play right off the bat," said Oran head coach Travis Spane. "This game shows we need a lot of improvement, but it also shows we're going to be able to play with a lot of teams in the area."
Sara Cook got the win for the Lady Bobcats. At the plate, she went 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Dannenmueller was 1-for-4 and had two RBIs. Jamie Pobst threw most of the game for Oran, allowing two earned runs on five hits and nine walks with seven strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings. Hannah Seyer threw the final 1/3 of an inning. At the plate, Seyer was 1-for-3 and Tori St. Cin was 1-for-2.
Oran (0-1) will travel to Leopold on Tuesday.
