Sikeston All-Stars win district game

SIKESTON - The 14-year-old Sikeston Junior Babe Ruth All-Stars defeated Kennett 5-1 on Thursday in the district tournament at VFW Stadium.

Strick Green was the winning pitcher for Sikeston while Josh Jackson came in for relief to get the save.

In other all-star action, the Sikeston 8-year-old All-Stars, the Diamond Dawgs, have found some success in Oklahoma this week.

On Wednesday, Sikeston beat an Oklahoma All-Star team 6-2. Later that day they defeated an Arkansas All-Star team 16-8. On Thursday, the Diamond Dawgs defeated Moore's Oklahoma Sooners 10-2.

Also this week, the 7-year-old Sikeston Sluggers defeated an Oklahoma All-Star team 11-10. The Sluggers then defeated the Oklahoma Cardinals 7-5.
