CHARLESTON - Minnie G. Jones, 83, died at 10:22 a.m. July 25, 2003, at the Charleston Manor.
Born July 26, 1919, in Mississippi County to the late Robert F. and Minnie E. McAliley Monroe, she had lived in Mississippi County her entire life. A member of the St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston, she was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and was employed with Brown Shoe Co. until her retirement.
On May 26, 1937, she married Robert C. Jones who preceded her in death on April 15, 1998.
Surviving are: two daughters, Hazel Williams and June Land of Charleston; three grandchildren, Becky Hearnes, Beth Barber and Noel Roeder of Charleston; and four great-grandchildren, Jamie Barber, Rachel Hearnes and Robert Hearnes of Charleston and Nathan Roeder of St. Louis.
One son, Robert Presnell Jones; one brother, Dorris Monroe; and three sisters, Gladys Bonta, Gertrude Zeug and Hazel Cox, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Henry Catholic Church with the Rev. Ed Nichols, pastor, serving as celebrant.
Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Jimmy Jones, Vernon "Bud" Jones, Jerry Lynn, George Bays, Robert Hearnes and Michael Roeder.
