POPLAR BLUFF - James Harrison Green, 88, died at 5 p.m. July 22, 2003, at his home.
Born March 10, 1915, in Brownfield, Ill., son of the late Charles Harrison and Iris Ethel Reedus Green, he retired as a self-employed industrial painting contractor. He was a seaman first class with the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the Toledo Bend Church of Christ in Many, La.
On Aug. 12, 1939, in Benton, he married Gertie Inez Blagg who preceded him in death on Jan. 29, 1980.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, James Harrison and Donna Green Jr., of Lady Lake, Fla.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Carl Heuiser of Poplar Bluff, Shirley and Kendall Jones of Benton, Ky., and Tonaleah and Danny Cooper of Sikeston; one sister, Charity Shaw of Rock Springs, Wyo.; and 17 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
One son, two brothers and three sisters also preceded him in death.
Memorial graveside services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston where the Missouri Honors Program will present military graveside rites. The Rev. Tom Geers, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church of Sikeston, will conduct the graveside service.
