LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. - Marshall Franklin Patterson, 68, died July 7, 2003, at his home.

Born Nov. 13, 1935, near Charleston, Mo., son of the late Clarence and Emma Patterson, he was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He owned a Shell service station for many years before retiring.

His wife, Betty Stroud Patterson, formerly of Morehouse, Mo., survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Frank Patterson of Laguna Niguel; one daughter, Cindy Upchurch of Laguna Niguel; three brothers, Allen Patterson of Reno, Nev., Ralph Patterson of Colorado Springs, Colo., and James Patterson of Ball Ground, Ga.; three sisters, Arvetta Kroener of Colonial Heights, Va., and Mildred Wilson and Belinda Kitchen of Sikeston; and four grandchildren.

One brother, Clarence Patterson Jr., preceded him in death.
