EAST PRAIRIE - A public hearing was set on the 1984-85 budget. The police department was authorized to schedule two road blocks, at least one in March, to check vehicles for city stickers.

SIKESTON - The Sikeston City Council scheduled a special meeting at 4:30 p.m. today in the City Administration Building. The major item of business is expected to be the awarding of a contract for the renovation of the McCoy-Tanner Building. Also on the agenda is the awarding of a cleaning contract for the administrative building.

SIKESTON - Does the idea of spending $3 to get more than $40 value in return sound appealing? That's exactly what Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts throughout the area are offering as a means of supporting their activities and the annual Scout-O-Rama. Scouts are selling coupon sheets for a $3 donation. However, area merchants are offering more than $40 worth of savings through the 41 coupons in the publication.


SIKESTON - Stefanie Arndt was crowned 1994 Winter Sports Homecoming Queen at Sikeston High School before Friday's basketball game with Kennett. Other candidates for the crown were Leslie Winchester, Carl Glitz, Jan Ellen Felker and Leslie Evans.
