HOWARDSVILLE -- James Farr "Dub" Jr., 73, died Dec. 12, 2003, at his home.
Born June 13, 1930, in Essex, son of Mary Farr of Howardsville and the late James Farr Sr., he was a retired farm worker and member of the Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church of Lilbourn. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
In addition to his mother, survivors include: eight sons, Moses Farr of Atlanta, Ga., Dale Farr and Micheal Farr of Houston, Texas, Brian Farr of Dallas, Texas, Robert Farr of Cape Girardeau, James Farr III of Malden, Duffie Ray Farr of Greenwood, S.C., and Jimmy Farr of the state of California; four daughters, Ruth Dennis and Vera Cain of Malden, Elmira Farr and Faye Hall of Marion, Ind.; two stepchildren, Lisa Anderson and Deanene Anderson of Lilbourn; 11 brothers, Moses Farr and Calvin Farr of Chicago, Ill., Luther Farr and W.C. Farr of St. Louis, Larry Farr of Augustus, Ga., Floyd Farr of New Madrid, Clifton Farr, Clennon Farr, Clayton Farr, Richard Farr and Albert Farr of Howardsville; two sisters, Lila Mae Crisp of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Liza Mae Lofton of Howardsville; and 23 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Clem Farr and Glen D. Farr, preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. Monday until time of service at noon at the Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church of Lilbourn. The Rev. Kenneth Holloway, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Simmons Park Cemetery in Catron.
