BELLEVILLE, Ill. - Lottie Pippins, 93, formerly of Bernie, Mo., died March 1, 2004, at the Four Fountains Nursing Home in Belleville.
Born June 16, 1910, at Bernie, daughter of the late W.F. and M.V. Hollis Summers, she had been employed by Brown Shoe Company in Bernie. She was a member of the Bernie General Baptist Church.
On Oct. 10, 1931, at Bernie, she married Lloyd Pippins who preceded her in death on July 10, 1960.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer Summers and Clyde Summers; one sister, Martha Mathews; and one half brother, Henry Wallace.
Survivors include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Gerald and Nita Pippins of Belleville and John Pippins of Lompoc, Calif.; one sister, Emma Walker of Dexter; and six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Arvel Edmonds will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
