Born April 12, 1910, in Hooker, Okla., daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Scott Cook, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dexter. She had been a teacher for schools in Poplar Bluff and Dexter and was also a speech pathologist for Dexter schools.
On Dec. 25, 1938, at Poplar Bluff, she married Landon Brown who preceded her in death on March 25, 1991.
Survivors include: one daughter, Diana Orr of Dexter; three grandsons, Tom Thrower of Dexter, Maj. Robert Thrower of Leavenworth, Kan., and Greg Thrower of Auburn, Ala.; and four great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Lt. Col. Forrest Cook and John Mac Cook, also preceded her in death.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday with Roy Sherfield officiating.
Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
