POINT PLEASANT - Robert C. Fleming, 78, died March 3, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born March 18, 1925, at Burnt Prairie, Ill., son of the late Clarence and Bessie Hall Fleming, he graduated in 1949 in Evansville, Ind., and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War.
In May 1983, he married Deanna Darlene Lane who preceded him in death on Feb. 26, 2004.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Robert Michael and Lois Fleming of Nashville, Tenn.; two stepsons and daughters-in-law, John Coleman and Debbie Lane and Danny and Karen Lane of Portageville; one stepdaughter and son-in-law, Darlene "Sam" and Greg Portwood of Portageville; and eight grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, John Fleming and Hall Fleming.
Visitation begins at 7 p.m. Friday at DeLisle Funeral Home, where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Tim Russell will officiate.
New Madrid American Legion Post 595 will conduct graveside military rites at the Mounds Park Cemetery near Lilbourn.
Pallbearers will be: John Lane, Ricky Copeland, William Bradley, Manual Roberts, Shane Biby and Greg Portwood.
