Josephine McIllwain

EAST PRAIRIE - Josephine A. McIllwain, 80, died at 4:50 a.m. March 8, 2004, at the East Prairie Nursing Center.

Born Sept. 23, 1923, at Nekoma, N.D., daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Petri, she was a retired bookkeeper and of the Catholic belief.

On July 28, 1945, she married Robert J. McIllwain Sr. who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Robert J. McIllwain Jr. of Peyton, Colo.; one daughter, Shirley Heiting of San Diego; one brother, Leo Petri of Nekoma; one sister, Eleanor Griffin of Kentucky; and seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Three brothers and one sister preceded her in death.

A memorial service was conducted Wednesday at Shelby Funeral Home with the Rev. Stephen Schneider officiating.
