EAST PRAIRIE -- An early morning house fire claimed the life of a Mississippi County man Wednesday.
According to Mississippi County Coroner Terry A. Parker, at 12:12 a.m. the East Prairie Fire Department responded to the fire at the residence of Donald Ray Henry, 50, located on O'Bryan Street in East Prairie.
Henry, who lived alone at the residence, was pronounced dead at the scene by Parker, who has determined Henry died of smoke inhalation and carbon monoxide poisoning. No foul play is suspected, Parker noted.
According to the City of East Prairie Police Department, the fire is believed to be accidental and nothing is under suspicion.
Henry's body was transported to McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Henry's obituary can be found on Page 5.
