ESSEX - Opal M. Wyatt, 83, died Jan. 26, 2004, at the Ratliff Care Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born June 18, 1920, in Parma, daughter of the late James Alt and Minnie Ethel Newell Grim, she lived in Essex most of her life.

On Jan. 8, 1944, in Corning, Ark., she married Charles Daniel Wyatt who preceded her in death on Oct. 22, 1998.

Survivors include: four daughters, Wanda Lee Gallamore and Doris Jean Hollis of Bloomfield, Shirley A. Cozart of O'Fallon and Bonnie Jean Rodgers of Arab; three sisters, Flora White, Louise Johnson and Pansy Woodruff of Dexter; 13 grandchildren, including Polly Eaton of Essex, whom she raised; and 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Johnny Grim, Earl Grim and Ernie Grim; and one sister, Eca Marie Crain.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday. John Armbruster of Sikeston will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Essex Cemetery.
