CHARLESTON - Motor carrier freight lines in Southeast Missouri for the Righter Trucking Co. of Charleston is to be taken over through purchase by the Frisco Transportation Co., subject to approval by the Interstate Commerce Commission and the Missouri Public Service Commission.
SIKESTON - In the final weeks of rehearsals is the Sikeston Little Theater Association's second production of the season, "The Diary of Anne Frank."
BENTON - Scott County Associate Judge David C. Mann of Sikeston has been appointed to the auditing committee of the Missouri Association of Probate and Associate Circuit Judges. Judge Gary Schmidt, president of the association, said he was particularly pleased that Mann was able to serve on this committee. The president and the association's board of directors noted that since the association was formed in 1915, the best judges in Missouri have provided leadership in committee service to the association.
SIKESTON - The fund-raising effort to finance construction of an addition to the Sikeston Public Library has received a boost in its opening weeks from a former Sikeston resident. Edwin E. McAmis, a 1952 graduate of Sikeston High School, has donated $60,000 in memory of his parents, Z.E. and Anna Louise Miller McAmis.
BLOOMFIELD - The Richland Rebels fell to 13-5 on Friday after a 74-67 loss to county rival Dexter in the Stoddard County Tournament semifinals. The championship game was scheduled for Saturday and was to feature No. 1 Bernie and No. 3. Dexter. The JV championship was to feature No. 1 Richland and No. 3 Dexter.
