SIKESTON - Enthusiasm, leadership and success are three qualities not easily found in today's world. But every once in a while someone with these attributes is discovered and receives the well-deserved recognition. In this case, that someone is Sikeston's Mary Ann Maevers. The Missouri State Teachers' Association, Southeast Missouri District, has selected Maevers for the Meritorious Service to Education Award. The award is earned only by educators who have demonstrated outstanding teaching abilities and a zest for their chosen field.
