SIKESTON - Connie Kay Vane Voorde McDaniel, 51, died unexpectedly Dec. 10, 2003, at her home.
Born Aug. 3, 1952, in Independence, Iowa, daughter of Zoe Vande Voorde of Oelwein, Iowa, and the late Morris Vande Voorde, she graduated in 1970 from East Buchanan High school in Winthrop, Iowa. She was a former employee of Wal-Mart and was currently employed by Good Humor-Breyers in Sikeston.
Her husband, Lester McDaniel, survives of the home.
Survivors in addition to her husband and father include: two sons, Joseph McDaniel, stationed with the U.S. Army at Fort Sill, Okla., and Jamison McDaniel, stationed with the U.S. Army in Germany; two stepsons, John McDaniel and Matthew McDaniel of Riverside, Calif.; four stepdaughters, Kathy Ochoa and Chrissie Potter of Riverside and Colleen McDaniel and Carla Balderrama of Phoenix, Ariz.; four brothers, James Vande Voorde of Anchorage, Alaska, Frank Vande Voorde of Gilbert, Ariz., Kenneth Vande Voorde and Greg Vande Voorde of Aurora, Iowa; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Charlene and William Merkel of Oklahoma City, Okla., Darlene and Gene Kealiher of Stevens Point, Wis., Joyce and M.J. Odekirk of Tempe, Ariz., Lynda and Daryl Lau of Oelwein and Mary and Kenneth Arnold of Pilot Mound, Iowa; two grandchildren, Halie McDaniel and Tyler McDaniel of Sikeston; and 13 stepgrandchildren and six stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Jeremy James; and a brother, Warren Vande Voorde.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. Saturday until service time at 11 a.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.
