ORAN - Charles B. Eftink, 80, died at 12:53 p.m. Dec. 10, 2003, at the Chaffee Nursing Center.
Born Jan. 14, 1923, in Portageville, son of the late Herman Bernard and Cecelia Suzanne Strack Eftink, he was a retired self-employed farmer. A member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church, he was also a member of St. Joseph Sodality, Morley VFW Post 5368 and Knights of Columbus Council 4311 in Oran.
On Feb. 16, 1949, he married Coletta Ann Jansen who preceded him in death on March 25, 2003.
Survivors include: eight sons, Ed Eftink of High Ridge, Jerry Eftink and Dennis Eftink of Perkins, Kenny Eftink of Jackson, Herman Eftink, Richard Eftink and Harold Eftink of Oran and Kevin Eftink of Mesler; three daughters, Linda Arnold of Mesler, Carol Coplin of Advance and Ruth White of Brownwood; one brother, Joseph Eftink of Oran; and 28 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Two brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death.
Visitation begins at 5 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran where parish prayers at 7 p.m. will be followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary at 7:15 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Guardian Angel Catholic Church with the Rev. John Harth, pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Michael Arnold, Dereck Arnold, Darin Eftink, Kenny L. Eftink, George Eftink, Jarrod Eftink, J.R. Eftink, Cody Eftink, Richard Eftink and Austin Eftink.
