MALDEN - Delmar Winford Garland, 80, died Feb. 25, 2004, at his home.
Born April 27, 1923, in Malden, son of the late Jerry and Vevia Pearl Skelton Garland, he retired as a sales representative for Ashcraft Wholesale Foods. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Malden.
On Nov. 9, 1949, at Piggott, Ark., he married Clara Lee Kincade who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Keith and Susie Garland of Dexter and Jim Garland of Springfield; two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Johnny Chalk of Portageville and Sandra and Doyle Crews of Jackson; two sisters, Francis Fay Carter of Paducah, Ky., and Flossie Beaird of Parma; two brothers, Jay Garland of Malden and Ray Garland of Canyon Lake, Texas; and three grandchildren and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Adell Lanier; and three brothers, Kenneth Garland, Paul Garland and Joe Garland.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Landess Funeral Home in Malden where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday. The Rev. John Rhodes and Howard Winberry will officiate.
Graveside military rites will be conducted at the Bernie Cemetery.
