SIKESTON - Laura Alice Bush, 91, died at 6:18 p.m. Feb. 25, 2004, at the Clearview Nursing Center.
Born Dec. 23, 1912, in Matthews, daughter of the late Oliver L. and Florence Caldwell Daugherty, she owned and operated Daugherty's Cafe in Sikeston. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she maintained perfect attendance for 12 years with the Philathea Sunday school class.
On Aug. 9, 1940, she married Joseph N. "Jake" Bush who preceded her in death on March 22, 1972.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Janet Johnson on Aug. 22, 1998; and three brothers.
Survivors include: her son-in-law, Gary Johnson of Sikeston; two grandsons, Blaine Johnson and Barry Johnson of Sikeston; and three sisters, Maxine Lathum Poole and June Freshour of Sikeston and Mary Hogan of East Prairie.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. William Koch, pastor of the First United Methodist Church and her nephew, the Rev. Paul David Lathum of Cuba, Mo., will officiate.
Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
