Burton leads Elks past First National Bank, 8-4

SIKESTON -- Sikeston Area Youth Baseball was back in action on Friday night. Here are those results.


Casey Burton was 3-for-4, leading the Elks to an 8-4 victory. On the mound, Jerod Scott picked up the win. In six innings of work, he allowed six hits and two walks with 10 strikeouts.

For First National, Brandon Ayers was 3-for-3. Ayers and Billy Green both pitched in the loss.

KSIM 3, DeWitt Auction 2

Scott Gardner and Garrett Limbaugh were both 2-for-4, leading KSIM to victory. Limbaugh and Trey Glaus both pitched in the win, allowing a total of eight hits and no walks with three strikeouts.

For DeWitt, Chase Ferrell was 2-for-3. Cody Cooper and Josh Pierce both pitched in the loss.


Charlie Bohannon was 3-for-4 with one RBI and Mike Brown was 2-for-3 with an RBI, leading Burger King to a 7-3 victory in the National League championship game.

Josh Carlyle picked up the win, allowing nine hits and one walk with eight strikeouts.

For Lewis, Logan Gilmore was 2-for-3. Brandon Copeland and Tyler Gilliland also had hits. Gilmore was charged with the loss.

Zach Howard turned a double play in the second inning, sparking Burger King in a 9-7 win. At the plate, Charlie Bohannon was 2-for-2 with an RBI. Zach Howard and D.J. Barker also had hits.

On the mound, Kai Lambert, Howard and Bohannon all pitched, allowing a total of eight hits and four walks with six strikeouts.

For HOC, Logan Kirkpatrick blasted a home run over the left field fence. He finished 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Blair Bohannon was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Stuart Strom was 2-for-3.

Strom was charged with the loss.


Nathan Rodgers was 3-for-4 with a home run, leading Blanchard to an uncontested 20-4 win. Zack Meyers was 4-for-4, Charlie Carter was 2-for-3 and Dillion Murphy was 3-for-3.

On the mound, Evan Underwood and Amos Helms both pitched in the win.

For the Elks, Jason Stratman and Dillion Martin were both 2-for-2. Nick Bird, Martin and Stratman all pitched in the loss.

Blake Newman was 2-for-2, leading Steward Steel to victory. Ryan Long and Brady Culver both pitched in the win.

For Fabick, Will Holifield and Joseph Kordehl were both 2-for-2. Blake Newman, Ross Bohannon and Marshall Stallings all pitched in the loss.


Brandon Goodwin hit a home run, leading Randy's Rx to victory. Goodwin, Chase Davis, Jake Stinnett, Jerry Graham and Alex Elsey were all 2-for-2.

For First National, Clay Williams was 3-for-3. Hunter Duff, Caleb Hampton, Josh Hampton, Jimmy Hines, Gerrick Madison and Antwan Marshall were all 2-for-2.

Randy's Rx 12, Carnell's 5

For Randy's Rx, Colton Black and Connor Landers were both 3-for-3. Brandon Goodwin was 2-for-2 with a homer run. Dylan Rucker, Jake Stinnett and Alex Elsey were all 2-for-2.

For Carnell's, Brant Decota was 3-for-3 and Trey Tigart was 2-for-3.

Carnell's scored four runs in the first inning, five in the second and two in the third. 731 scored two in the first and three in the second. No other information was provided.


Garrett Lawson was 2-for-3, leading Morlan to a 5-3 win. Other hits came from Colton Hampton, Mack Marcum and Clark Atchison.

For Rotary, Lucas Williams had a triple.
