BLOOMFIELD - Sylvia M. Gibson, 81, died March 7, 2004, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.

Born May 3, 1922, in Tallapoosa, daughter of Virgie Lanning Gibson Larue of Dexter and the late Tom Gibson, she lived in Bloomfield most of her life and was affiliated with the Baptist Church.

Survivors in addition to her mother include: two sons, Leroy English of Grayridge and Charlie Cooper of Waco, Texas; one daughter, Bonnie Cooper of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three brothers, Alvin Gibson of Denver, Colo., Orville Gibson of Garden City, Miss., and Wesley Gibson of Bloomfield; four sisters, Goldie Lafferty of Bloomfield, Dorothy Dyson of Doniphan, Ada Harper of Centertown and Donnie Warren of New Bloomfield; and several grandchildren.

One brother, Edward Gibson, preceded her in death in 2001.

Visitation is from 9 a.m. Wednesday until service time at 11 a.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. The Rev. Robert Lafferty of Bloomfield will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter.
