SPRINGFIELD -- The Southeast Tremors advanced to the ASA National Softball Championship after placing first in the state of Missouri.

After a week long tournament, the Tremors placed ninth out of 42 teams from all over the western United States. By winning both pool games against the Arkansas Firestix and the Oregon Venom, they were placed in the winners bracket.

They defeated Oklahoma 8-3 in the first round of bracket play, but the Tremors suffered their first loss of the tournament, falling 4-3 to Sartell, Minnesota.

The Tremors then faced the Dirt Devils from Montrose, Calif. Trailing 7-2 in the sixth inning, the Tremors rallied, scoring six runs and holding off the Dirt Devils for the win.

The Tremors then faced the Slammers from Chandron, Neb. Again, the team had to come from behind to win 4-1. In the final game, the Tremors faced the St. Louis Angels. This time there would be no rally as St. Louis came from behind to defeat the Tremors.
