HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. - Vikki Lynn Harris Voliva, 50, died Aug. 24, 2004, at her home in Hendersonville, following a two-year battle with breast cancer.
Born Sept. 29, 1953, in Sikeston, Mo., she was the daughter of Sgt. Eugene and Marie Harris. She graduated in 1972 from Sikeston High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau.
On Aug. 4, 1973, in San Antonio, she married her high school sweetheart, Larry E. Voliva, and served faithfully as a military wife for 25 years, which included five combat assignments. She lived in many states and in Europe, but Vikki most loved the time she spent in Alaska. The Volivas retired from the U.S. Special Operations Command in 1997 in Tampa, Fla.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years; her son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Mirela Voliva of Colorado Springs, Colo.; her sister, Bev; and two brothers, Bill and Mike.
Vikki is remembered and loved by many friends all over the world. A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hendersonville Funeral Home, 353 Johnny Cash Parkway.
