Born Nov. 3, 1917, at Townley, son of the late James Harvey and Barbara Burrow Oliver, he attended the First Assembly of God Church in Dexter. He was a shoe factory foreman from 1945-63 and then operated a used car lot and service station.
On April 24, 1939, at New Madrid, he married Delphia Brown who preceded him in death on June 22, 2003.
Survivors include: three sisters, Ruby Jewell Buckley of Piggott, Ark., and Melissa Buckley and Sylvia Hinze of Malden; and several nieces and nephews.
Also preceding him in death were three brothers, Orley "Dike" Oliver, James Allen Oliver and Otis Oliver; and three sisters, Gracy Lucille Oliver, Oma Oliver and Oceola Hamlin.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday. The Revs. Ralph Buckley and Mike Davis will officiate.
Burial will follow in Malden Memorial Park Cemetery.
