CHARLESTON -- Patricia Carr and Ralph Carr have announced the engagement of their daughter, Carrie Lynn, to David Elliott Williams, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. David Williams of Charleston.
The granddaughter of Ruth Hart of Charleston and the late Thomas Hart and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Carr Sr. is a 1995 graduate of Charleston High School. In December 2001, the future bride earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. She is employed by St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, where she is a registered nurse on the medical/oncology floor.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Viverette Lee of Charleston, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Williams of Wyatt and the late Travis Wade Shelby. A 1990 graduate of Charleston High School, he graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in hotel and restaurant management from the University of Mississippi, where he was also a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He currently works as a farmer.
Plans are under way for a July 26 wedding at the United Methodist Church in Charleston.
