SIKESTON - Rochester Armstrong, 66, died Sept. 4, 2004, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born March 11, 1938, in rural Charleston to the late Rufus and Jessie Coleman Armstrong, he was affiliated with the Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Annie Orr Armstrong of Sikeston; nine sons, Richard Lawrence, Freddie Davis, Roy C. Armstrong and Ray C. Armstrong of Toledo, Ohio, James Clark of Indianapolis, Jerome Davis of Decatur, Ill., James Davis of Charleston, Kelvin Goodwin of Milwaukee and Michael Goodwin of Clarksville, Tenn.; four daughters, Christine Cavanaugh and Georgia Bolton of Toledo, Angela Dossie of Cairo, Ill., and Miranda Goodwin of Charleston; two brothers, Perry Bailey of Indianapolis and Milan Armstrong of Minneapolis; four sisters, Lizzie Mae McCain of Mt. Vernon, Ill., Vera Mae Washington and Julia Tate of Charleston and Charlene Reed of Wilson City; and 45 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Saturday until time for services at 2 p.m. at the Ollie Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Wilson City. The Rev. Melvin Williams will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of Williams Funeral Home of Charleston.
