Born June 26, 1930, near Dexter, daughter of the late David L. and Ada Harris Jarrell, she was a lifelong resident of Bloomfield, where she was a member of the Church of Christ. She had been employed as a seamstress for Elder Manufacturing in Bloomfield.
In December 1947, she married Johnny Thomas Black who preceded her in death on June 17, 1986.
Survivors include: one daughter, Connie Wills of Bloomfield; one son, Johnny D. Black of Bloomfield; two brothers, Dwight Jarrell and Bill Jarrell of Bloomfield; three sisters, Ernestine Ward of Lansing, Mich., Louise Losh of Eminence and June Culbertson of Bloomfield; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were one son, Thomas E. Black on Aug. 30, 1999; and two brothers and two sisters.
Visitation begins at 12:30 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter. Stan Dauck of Bernie will officiate.
