Born April 18, 1913, in Hickory Valley, Tenn., son of the late Robert Hullum and Mary Bills, he had lived much of his life in Tennessee and was a member of the Van Buren Baptist Church in Hickory Valley, where he served as a deacon. In 1989, he retired from the Consolidated Highway Department of Somersville, Tenn.
His wife, Ruby Louise Bills, preceded him in death.
Two sons, James Edward Bills and Lee Bills; one son-in-law, James Brown; and eight siblings also preceded him in death.
Survivors include: three daughters and two sons-in-law, Louis Brown, Martha and Charles Calcutt and Katie and Esau Bonner of Parma; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Dallas Bills Jr., Jimmie Baker and Edward and Freida Bills of Parma and Robert and Marie Bills of Gary, Ind.; and 30 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Visitation is from noon Wednesday until time of services at 1 p.m. at the Parma Community Center with Floyd Wade officiating.
Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in New Madrid.
Ponder Funeral Home of Lilbourn is in charge of arrangements.
