CHARLESTON - The Mississippi County Ambulance District Board of Directors accepted the resignation of a paramedic and appointed a new director Wednesday. Paramedic Dennis Hubbard submitted his resignation reportedly due to a relicensing problem. Robert Smith of Charleston was named director.
SIKESTON - A star-spangled, firecracker Fourth of July is scheduled over much of the Bootheel as area residents gear up for what for many will be a three-day holiday. Many area communities, including Sikeston, will feature a fireworks display and other activities. However, law enforcement officials plan to be out in full force during the weekend as well.
SIKESTON - Robert and Patricia Jenkins Jr. are the parents of their second daughter, born June 18, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. Kelsey Erin Jenkins weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces and was 19 3/4-inches long.
