Born March 7, 1909, in Carmi, Ill., daughter of the late Ira and Clara Brookins Hutchcraft, she was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Dexter. She was a housekeeper and seamstress before retiring.
On Oct. 19, 1934, in Dexter, she married the Rev. Milton Sylvester Johnson who preceded her in death on April 5, 1978.
Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Bob Mincey of O'Fallon; two grandchildren and spouses, Theresa Ann and Jerry Kessler and Vickie Jo and Randy Thompson; and five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one stepson, Sylvester Johnson Jr.; two stepdaughters, Frances Morning and Vonnie Wampler; three brothers, Oren Hutchcraft, Raymond Hutchcraft and Ira "Buster" Hutchcraft; and four sisters, Marie Keith, Ida Johnson, Mabel Baker and Clara Emeline Baker.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Clifford Wray will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
