NMCC football player commits to Illinois

NEW MADRID -- New Madrid County Central football standout Remond Willis has verbally committed to play at the University of Illinois.

Eagles assistant coach Arlen Pixley confirmed that Willis made the commitment to Illini head coach Ron Turner, after recently attending a workout camp in Champaign, Ill.

At the camp, the 6-foot-2, 221-pound Willis ran a 4.52 and was offered a full ride.

At Illinois, Willis is expected to be a linebacker.
