SIKESTON -- A federal fugitive hiding out in Sikeston was arrested Monday by the Sikeston Department of Public Safety.
Markeith Nekia Kelly, 26, was arrested by DPS special operations officers along with the United States Marshal's service at the Days Inn around 9 a.m. Monday.
Kelly had been sought by federal marshals since a federal indictment was issued charging him with possession with intent to distribute 38 grams of crack cocaine in May 2004 by the Southern District Court in Jackson, Miss.
According to DPS authorities, Kelly had been hiding in the Sikeston area for about three weeks prior to his capture.
Officers also arrested two other individuals with Kelly for misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Both were later released on summons to appear in court.
