PINHOOK -- Rocket B. Porter, 29, died Nov. 6, 2005, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Pinhook.
Born Jan. 28, 1976, in Dexter, son of Brenda Evans Porter of Pinhook and the late Carol B. Porter, he was a 1995 graduate of East Prairie High School where he played football and ran for the track team. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps and was of the Baptist belief.
On July 11, 2000, he married Cecillia Morton who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife and mother, survivors include: one daughter, Tanjanique Lanay Porter of the home; two brothers, Sylvester B. Porter and August Bert Porter of St. Louis; and two sisters, Leshonda Denise Evens of East Prairie and Pamela Rena Porter Rodgers of Charleston.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Williams Funeral Home in Charleston. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Union Baptist Church in Pinhook with the Rev. Melvin Williams officiating.
Full military graveside rites will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
