ESSEX -- Lavon Odell Stoker, 62, died July 25, 2005, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.

Born Aug. 16, 1943, in Pollard, Ark., son of the late Charles and Iva Gilbreath Stoker, he was a former employee at Federal Mogul in Malden. A veteran of the United States Navy, he was a member of Harvest Assembly of God Church in Essex.

On April 10, 1971, at Malden, he married Linda Huntington who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Ben Stoker of Essex; two daughters, Angelisa Wagner of Cape Girardeau and Lavonda Stoker of Essex; one brother, Thomas Stoker of Bearden, Ark.; three sisters, Margrettia Throgmorton of Bloomfield and Dorotha Blunt and Betty Taylor of Dexter; and one half sister, Effie Foster of Gideon; and three grandchildren.

One brother, Roy Lee Stoker; one grandchild; three half brothers; and three half sisters preceded him in death.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. Wednesday until time for services at 1 p.m. at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter with James Malloy officiating.

Burial will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
