EAST PRAIRIE - Bessie M. Fockler, 83, died at 10:10 a.m. Nov. 17, 2007, at her home.
Born Feb. 26, 1924, in Poplar Bluff, to the late Leo and Pearl Rich Uhl, she lived in East Prairie for the past 17 years.
She was married to Hoyt Carroll, who preceded her in death in October 1958, On Dec. 6, 1979, she married William Fockler, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons, Hoyt Carroll and Ronnie Carroll of Hillsboro and William Carroll of St. Louis; two daughters, Pat Dixon of St. Louis and Marcie Hopper of Belleview; one stepson, William Fockler of Bowling Green; one stepdaughter, Tammy Parker of Bowling Green; two brothers, Everett Uhl of Cuba, Mo. and Clifford "Shorty" Uhl of Fredericktown; two sisters, Louise Mottes of Cardondolet, Ill. and Helen Harrington of House Springs; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Two brothers and six sisters preceded her in death.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Black Creek Cemetery in Poplar Bluff with Jim Hoyt officiating.
Shelby Funeral Home of East Prairie is in charge of arrangements.
