SIKESTON - Mr. and Mrs. Albert Michie of Lilbourn are the parents of a baby boy, born Thursday at Sikeston General Hospital. Other babies born included a son to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Freeman of Morehouse.


SIKESTON - Miss Mary Evelyn Chapman will be hostess at a miscellaneous shower Wednesday evening at her home on North Street in honor of Mrs. Glenn Gurley, whose marriage took place Saturday night.

SIKESTON - Jeanie Williams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Avelle Williams, was elected to the House of Representatives while attending the 22nd session of Missouri Girls State.

SIKESTON - The Sikeston Little Theatre production of "Kismet" was presented Friday evening. The Princesses of Ababu made a memorable entrance during the first act.

SIKESTON - Winners of the Beta Sigma Phi Bathing Beauty Cutie Pageant for 3-5-year-olds were Clay Dover, son of Johnny and Kay Dover of Bell City and Jordi Ferrell, daughter of Buzz and Shori Ferrell of Sikeston. First runners-up were Drew Ryan, son of Tom and Laurie Ryan of Sikeston and Mykah Paige Bryan, daughter of Michael and Bethley Bryan of Sikeston. Tate Williams, daughter of Marty and Kelly Williams of Sikeston and Hunter Dillender, son of David and Susan Dillender of Sikeston, were second runners-up.


SIKESTON - Jacob Moore was one of the Sikeston Sharks who competed in Saturday's home swim meet against Jackson and Charleston. Moore swam in the 8-and-under medley relay.
