SIKESTON -Leroy J. Price, a lineman with the Scott-New Madrid-Mississippi County Cooperative of Sikeston, suffered burns late Monday in an accident where REA power lines are being moved.

SIKESTON - Jean Klein arrived home Sunday from Missouri University at Columbia. A cadet lieutenant in the ROTC, he expected to be called to service this summer.

SIKESTON - With activities at Missouri Boys State for 1963 ended, it has been learned that Lynn Lancaster of Sikeston was elected as a representative from the mythical Barton County.

SIKESTON - Mike's Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning Supply Company was destroyed by fire shortly before 11 a.m. today. The Sikeston firemen fought the smoldering building for over two hours.

SIKESTON - Sam Anand of Sikeston, a soybean breeder at the University of Missouri's Delta Center, has been selected to participate in a two-week China tour and international symposium.

SIKESTON - The Gary Schaefer family must get the feeling of being on a tropical island when they look up at eight banana plants growing in their back yard. They hope to harvest their first crop this year.

SIKESTON - For the last 48 years, the American Legion Cotton Carnival has been conducted in downtown Sikeston's Legion Park. This year, the event is moving south to the Kingsway Mall.
