SIKESTON?- A local broadcaster has received a top honor from a national magazine focused on the industry.
KZIM KSIM Program Director Faune Riggin was recently nominated by her peers and national organizations for her work in keeping the AM news talk stations above industry standards.
Radio Ink magazine published its list of the top 10 best programmers in radio in America in its October issue. They were separated by market size, including, major, medium and small market radio.
Riggin was featured with a biography, photograph, and her comments pertaining to a roundtable discussion on the biggest issues facing program directors in the next five years.
"I never dreamt just doing the job I am absolutely in love with would garner me national attention. But I must say it is easy to soar when a company allows you to, and believes in your abilities. I am truly blessed, Riggin said.
General Manager of Mississippi River Radio LLC, the Parent Company of KZIM KSIM, Scott Richards said, "It's an outstanding accomplishment for Faune to be recognized in this way, and it just reinforces how fortunate we are, as a broadcast group and as a community, to have Faune working and serving our region and our radio stations."
This is the first time Radio Ink has acknowledged a program director from this market for their accomplishments.
Radio Ink is distributed nationwide and recognizes professionals in their field while updating broadcasters on changes in technology and regulations.
KSIM's office in Sikeston is located at 519 Greer Ave.
